Closed Panels Inspection

Usually in order to inspect medium and high voltage components we have to stop the plant to be able to open the electrical cabinet.

These of inspections with airborne ultrasound are done with closed planels, for security reasons, because it is not possible to open the cabinet during normal operation.

In this case, the use of instrumentation that detects the ultrasound, is fundamental because it allows to carry out the inspections with closed panels when the system is functioning.

Ultrasonic inspections are effective at every potential difference but are particularly useful in high and medium voltage and serve to identify:

  • Corona Discharges
  • Tracking
  • Electric arc
  • Microdischarges
  • Electrical and mechanical problems

Each of these faults/anomalies presents a signature feature that allows for the detection.
